Too Long

2008/02/18

Pardon the lack of updates. It’s been waaaay too long since the last post. To apologize, I give you a pirate kitten.

In the news, Chris has another new Brawl article on Zentendo that you can read here. He got a chance to play for a few hours the other day and it sounds like everything is fine and dandy. Just a few more days!

On a more serious note, a friend of mine is selling t-shirts to help raise money for her sister’s brain cancer treatment. She can explain it a lot better than I can, so here’s what the message she sent to me said:

My sister was diagnosed w/ brain cancer last fall and has to have special treatments (different than normal chemo) to treat it. If she doesnt get this specific kind she’ll die. Well we just found out recently that the insurance doesnt want to pay for it and right now we’re trying to beat ’em. As a fundraiser, I’m having shirts made.

The shirts are gonna be grey and say “Everyone Deserves a Chance. Support the Cure” on the front and “God is our refuge and strength, a very spresent help in trouble” Psalms 46:1 on the back in black and white. They’re $10 each.

Kelsie has set up a Facebook event that can be seen from here if you would like to contact one of us via FB. If you don’t want a t-shirt, donations I’m sure are welcome as well. I can do PayPal or if you’re local cash works as well. I’ll try to add an occasional update on what’s going on as I find out more. If you’d like a shirt or would like more information on a donation, feel free to email me.

Not So Cold

2008/02/03

Happy belated Groundhog Day! It’s been an eventful weekend. I saw Cloverfield on Saturday and now I know why Shawn wanted me to see it so badly. I’m really hoping for a sequel from another point of view, now. Don’t let me down, JJ Abrams. Japan FIGHT was later that afternoon. The kimono pictures are up on my Picasa Web Album and the videos of the eating contests can be seen below and on my YouTube page. Jen’s birthday at Sushi Bar was later that evening and we ended up at Jiffy Treet after that.

In other news, a new beta of Dr. DivX is out now, as is Super Smash Bros. Brawl in Japan. A good friend of mine wrote up an article on the complete roster. Check it out here. Gameplay videos are showing up all over YouTube to entertain us until March when the US release gets here.
